GUARANTEE (10 YEAR)
BICO offers a 10 year guarantee on this product.
If service is required during the first 10 years
from purchase, due to defects in workmanship and
materials, your mattress will be repaired free of
charge other than transportation costs. If identical
materials are not available at the time of service,
the manufacturer may substitute materials of a
comparable quality. It is normal for all mattresses
to show some body impressions as the upholstery
settles. This is unavoidable and is not an
indication of any structural failure, therefore it
is not covered by this guarantee. A bed that is not
suitable to your comfort (i.e. too hard or too soft)
is not a manufacturing fault.
The cost of freight will be borne by the
manufacturer for a period of twelve months from the
date of purchase. After the first twelve months,
freight will be payable by the purchaser.
Your BICO sleep system shall be repaired or
replaced at BICO and/or Hycraft’s option.
This guarantee is in addition to, and does not
restrict or modify any guarantee or condition
implied or any right to recourse against the
manufacturer conferred by the Trade Practices Act
(as amended) or any relevant State Act.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
To maximise its benefits, turn your BICO mattress
every month end to end and side to side for the
first three months, then every six months. While
this is not essential for guarantee purposes, it
will help even out the slight body impressions that
will develop as the upholstery settles. A one sided
mattress does not need to be turned over, only
rotated.
Don’t use an old foundation with your new
mattress. The two parts of your sleep set work
together for your comfort and support.
Occasional airing of your mattress is
recommended.
Do not cover the mattress with synthetic
material, this blocks transpiration and may also be
flammable.
WASHING YOUR MATTRESS COVER
To wash your mattress cover, unzip the cover all
the way around the mattress. Unhook the cover from
the ‘mattress handles’ and lift cover off.
Machine wash at 60 degrees for optimum results,
air dry in shade.
Remove residual material with a clean sponge.
Stains caused by organic material may be removed by
gently rubbing the cover with a damp sponge and a
small amount of delicate detergent or white vinegar.
MATTRESS SUPPORTS
Correct mattress support is important to provide
long life for the mattress. Mattresses always follow
the contour of whatever they rest on. A base that is
too hard, too soft, not supportive or restricts air
circulation may damage your mattress and void this
guarantee.
If your new base features a flexible slat
construction, it is recommended that the slats be
rotated from high load areas (centre of bed) to low
load areas (i.e. below the feet) to enhance the
durability of the slats. If your flexible slats lose
their resilience and become concave (dip downwards
in the centre) instead of convex (arch upwards) it
may adversely affect the structural integrity of
your new mattress and therefore void your warranty.
Slats must be spaced no more than 8cm apart and
measure no more than 12cm wide so as not to cause
mildew by not allowing moisture to evaporate
sufficiently.
A breathable insulating mattress protector or
blanket over the slats is advisable.
OTHER THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- At first your new BICO bed may feel a little
different from the mattress you have been
sleeping on. Don’t worry, you’ll soon adjust to
the extra comfort and support that this unique
sleep system provides
- When first unpackaged, the product may emit
a characteristic odour. This is completely
harmless and disappears after a short period
- Small indentations are normal on the surface
of any new mattress whilst the upholstery
filling is settling to a normal position and
adjusting to your body contours. This does not
constitute a manufacturer’s fault. Up to 25mm
height loss is considered normal
- The mattress must not be folded, rolled or
tightly tied
- Remove and destroy the plastic bag. Do not
allow children to play with the bag
- Do not smoke in bed.
